favorite bass line

This week, I saw the question "What's your favorite bass line in a song?" put forth as a prompt for a blog post.

After a good long think on it, the answer for me is the fairly unassuming bass line in VÉRITÉ's "paranoia/deja vu" (on YouTube here):

It's not complicated or particularly bombastic, but it underpins the song and does its job so very well. It also doesn't hurt that "paranoia/deja vu" is perhaps my favorite song of all time, and VÉRITÉ certainly my favorite artist.
