got my ears pierced today, in a real victory over my needle phobia

i am swiftly developing A Thing™ about a. e. housman

i got a new printer and it is truly remarkable how many times i had to tell it not to send my data elsewhere or download random shit onto my computer. jesus that was unnerving.

i like selby wynn schwartz's after sappho so well that i am even willing to forgive it for being dead fucking wrong about ovid

the red badge of courage didn't do much of anything for me, but it was short and now it's over

god i fucking hate football

i submitted an abstract for an edited volume and it was accepted!

told my students to call me by my (full) first name. got one student email today addressed to my nickname (spelled wrong) and another addressed to mrs. [lastname] (i am not married)

having a lot of fun with this site

fucking crashed and burned in my latin seminar today so that was cool and fun

made a double batch of pumpkin pudding. turns out blending it helps with the pulpiness, but i'm not sure i care that much.

i've receive my first student email which could be answered with "well if you take a look at the syllabus..." it feels like a rite of passage.

i took myself to the art store today and got a weird-shaped canvas for the small space between the windows in my apartment and also one of those stupid little paper maché tchotchkes (in this case, a mushroom)

one of my professors thinks that the seminar paper i wrote for her class is at least conference quality and perhaps publishable, so now i need to show it to the guy in the department i came here hoping to work with, which is both exciting and terrifying

one of my classmates' partners watched my plants for me over the summer, and i just got my babies back today. it's remarkable how much of a difference it makes, having plants in my apartment.
