The thing I love most about your site, even above the design, is that you have your own framework to make it in. I am trapped in WP, only because of the fear of moving to the current flavour of the month framework will quickly turn sour.

There's a lot to be said for having your own framework (and I certainly have the skills to make one). I deliberately left my root domain as a plain placeholder for the future and I think you have inspired me to start the journey.

Working on this framework has been my great creative project of the last year, and it has been so rewarding! It's so lovely to be able to make everything just so, and so much fun to be able make it a reflection of my interests and my needs. I wish you the best of luck!

Excellent post on your solid Gen Z qualifications. Hearing your horror at Trump gives me hope for humanity's continued existence! Also, good on you for reading Jedda's blog. She is a real ace.

Thank you! And yeah, Jedda is really cool—I just found her blog through Blaugust and I'm so enjoying reading through it.

Hey, I got your book rec of A Memory Called Empire, read it and the sequel. It was very good and gave me lots of think about when it comes to Latin literature. And I recommended it to a book club and a professor of mine who are now reading it!

hi, i'm having a bit of trouble implementing your styleswitcher onto my site. i copied the code exactly, but my switches are squished together and not as round as yours. when i change the 1.75 value to 1.15, the circles become round again, but lose the stacking effect. any idea how to troubleshoot this? thanks

Hi, I'm happy to help but I'm having a bit of trouble replicating the issue—if I'm understanding you right, the 1.75 value to which you're referring should affect spacing between the buttons, not roundness of the buttons. Want to talk over email? Mine is linked in the footer.
